Dow Electronic Materials’ Semiconductor Technologies (ST) serves the semiconductor and related industries with leading edge technology that supports the advancement of device ‘shrinks’ and increased power for semiconductor devices. A leader and innovator in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) and lithography for the global semiconductor industry, Dow’s products include advanced photoresists, BARCs, metallization, CMP pads and slurries, and related materials.
The candidate will be responsible for producing high quality product at the lowest possible cost, exceeding Company standards for environmental control, health, and safety in manufacturing and demonstrating standards of excellence and personal responsibility, including commitment to best-in-class performance and the application of Lean principles.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Utilizing detailed product knowledge over a range of products, conducts visual inspection, calibration, measuring of defect codes, and operates Thickness Metrology Unit.
Operate independently under limited supervision to program and interact with equipment on a daily basis.
Ensure safety guidelines/rules are strictly followed; wear required PPE; utilize heightened awareness for process safety due to moving equipment; conduct monthly safety audits; recognize safety concerns and escalate via processes; participate in 5S program; report and respond to safety incidents.
Take ownership for quality of product; conduct frequent product quality testing; utilize strong attention to detail to identify defects. Through visual inspection and a mastery of quality standards, determine if material is acceptable or non-conforming. Functions as last quality check prior to shipment to customer. Troubleshoot and adjust metrology units as needed. Perform daily calibrations of metrology units and other testing equipment. Respond to out of control points by either following established action plans for process disruptions or adjusting equipment as appropriate for equipment disruptions.
Ensure productivity targets are met and maintained.
Handle operator identified preventive maintenance.
Recognize and understand impact to various key performance indicators (KPI) such as Performance to Schedule, Short Interval Control, Out of Control response rate, Sierra Vista (MRB System) Vista, QIR (Quality Incident Report).
Strives for continuous improvement in a team environment. Utilize exceptional team skills to perform in a team-based environment. Routinely works w/ mini-business team to problem solve and track metrics on Safety, Quality, Speed, Cost and People; achieve continuous improvement through participation in innovation blitzes (Kaizen events).
Handle first line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, involving other experts as needed.
Recognize and handle non-standard occurrences and problems and escalate where necessary.
Utilizing intermediate computer skills, maintain production records by entering information in database and logbooks.
Participate in required meetings (shift turnover, monthly safety, mini-business meetings, occasional MOC’s, etc.).
Experience / Skills to include:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Successful team experience and the ability to work well with others are required
Intermediate computer skills
Typical training time cycle to achieve initial certification/s is 2-3 months
Light to moderate physical effort required.
Frequently required to lift 15 to 20 pounds.
Lifting required occasionally of up to 40 pounds.
Bending, pushing and pulling required on a daily basis.
Ability to occasionally work at table level and/or overhead level as necessary.
For Inspection roles, visual acuity must meet 20/30 with or without correction.
Required to wear appropriate PPE.
Work performed in a plant environment.
Exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, chemical and other elements.
