Upon award of contract qualified candidates will be considered for employment for a large installation logistics support activity at Fort Polk, LA.
Requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience in the Health, Safety and Environmental field or in a related area. Candidate must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Good written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position requires familiarity with and ability to stay current in general industry standards.
Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English”
Candidate must be able to develop a safety plan and program to prevent accidents and preserve the life and health of government and contractor personnel. A working knowledge and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) is required.
This position requires the ability to plan, implement, coordinate, and assesses industrial accident and prevention of job related accidents. Perform inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products.
Install quality control process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques. Maintain and administer quality and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. Maintains adherence to quality requirements established under ISO 9901.
Maintain the health and safety environmental policies and procedures to protect the safety of the public, the customer personnel, and contractor personnel. Comply with corporate, state, federal and local regulations and contract requirements.
Deliver and track new employee safety orientations. Develop and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely.
Participate in and may lead the safety committee meetings to address site related safety, health and environmental concerns. Coordinate with the Contractor's Safety and Environmental personnel and federal/local government agencies. Works under minimal supervision.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. The HSE Manager will report to the local Site Manager and Program Manager.
The HSE Manager will also report and coordinate with the cooperate level safety personnel to ensure all safety requirements are adhered to. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
