As a Marketing leader, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.
The Senior Events Manager is an experienced event marketing leader who will manage some of Google’s highest profile events nationwide. As a Senior Events Manager, you will develop and execute effective event marketing programs for both businesses and consumers and find creative solutions for projects. You will be both an exceptional leader, experienced people manager, and have stellar organizational skills.
Strategy: Develop strategic marketing campaigns for Google's events portfolio. Conceptualize, produce and measure alternative event-driven marketing programs from non- traditional presence at events to thought leadership events.
Creative: Understand the user experience and dream up ways to bring the Google brand to life.
Execution: Execute highly effective events that communicate Google’s brand and thought leadership to customers and users. Oversee all aspects of event management and production: content and program development, design, AV production, vendor management, logistics, invitations, promotions, etc.
Analyze: Measure programs for effectiveness; conduct post-event reporting and ROI analysis.
People Management: Manage a portion of the Events Team (approximately 6-7 direct reports).
BA or BS Degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience)
10 years of experience in a similar event management role.
Strong project management and leadership experience. Strong executive presence and experience with senior leaders.
Experience with inspiring and motivating teams.
Exceptional budget management, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Ability to work smart in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Must be willing to travel and work flexible hours.
