      Description
      The principal function of the Storage Systems Engineer Lead position is to plan and manage the architecture and design of WellCare storage area network and storage hardware and software including DR appliances according to industry best practices, while ensuring high levels of data quality and availability for all enterprise storage systems environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the success of WellCare IT engineering department in achieving its strategic and financial goals, and is also responsible for understanding complex business IT needs and researching, designing and developing solutions.

      Essential Functions:

      • Lead a team of engineers and Sr. engineers
      • Manage and lead storage engineering projects
      • Quality assurance of all storage related projects
      · Ability to plan, document and effectively implement projects and systems
      • Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with many deadlines and competing priorities
      • Demonstrated working proficiency in SAN fabric management (ISLs, utilization, zoning, masking, etc.)
      • Knowledge with SAN hardware and software for Cisco and Brocade fabric architectures.
      • Administer hardware components specifically focused on EMC and IBM.
      • Interpret storage protocols including Fiber Channel, CIFS, NFS, NDMP protocols and hardware, which use these products
      • Provide capacity planning, performance analysis, develop disaster recovery plans, lead efforts towards storage consolidation and identify storage growth, manage configurations of storage media and storage management software.
      • Willingness to manage a 24x7x365 storage and backup environment including on-call rotation, weekend work, etc.
      • Maintain partnerships and leverage market technologies associated with SAN vendors, product enhancements and product roadmaps to determine how they can be beneficially applied to the company's Enterprise
      • Extensive experience in design and documentation of backup/restore strategies via enterprise class backup solutions such as VERITAS NetBackup and automated tape library systems
      • Supporting storage in a VMware virtualization environment
      • Experience with Data Replication, Snap Shots and Virtualization Technology
        Qualifications
        Education/Experience:
        • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in information systems or information technology or related field or equivalent experience
        • 6+ years of hands on experience in IT
        • 4+ years experience performing a Consultant or Architect role
        • 3 + years of project management experience
        • Strong knowledge of SAN and SAN fabric design, documentation, implementation, monitoring, and support as demonstrated by no less than 6 years’ experience working in Information Technology in a role that included primary or shared responsibility for architecting / engineering or administering SAN and SAN fabric solutions in Unix / Linux environment to include the following:
        • o Enterprise storage infrastructure design

          o Server and SAN virtualization and consolidation

          o Disaster recovery/business continuity solutions design and planning

          o Remote data replication design and implementation using SRDF and CDP/CRR appliances (EMC's RecoverPoint)

          o Enterprise systems architecture

          o Systems and storage administration

          o High availability with cluster technology

          o Performance tuning and capacity planning
            • Enterprise storage or backup design, implementation, administration and support
            • HBA implementation, configuration, performance tuning, administration, and support on Unix / Linux hosts
            • Implementation of multi-pathing software such as EMC Powerpath or Veritas DMP on Unix / Linux hosts
          Certifications:
          • At least one of the following certifications; more than one certification or advanced certifications, preferred:
            • Standard Certifications
              • Solaris Administrator
              • SUSE or Red Hat Administrator
              • SAN design certifications
            • Advanced Certifications
              • Advanced version of the certifications above
              • Certifications in other areas related to Unix, Linux, or SAN such as:
                • Security
                • Performance Tuning
                • Network Configuration
          Computer Skills:
          • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Project and Outlook

          Other:
          • After hours work may be required for upgrades to production systems to avoid system downtime during business hours
          • Must be able to work assigned hours and be available to participate in on-call rotations
          • Must be able to be available for after-hours support via cell phone or pager 24x7 when on call
