We are currently seeking individuals who are highly accountable, self-motivated and work well in a team environment for a full-time Operation Technician at our lecithin processing plant in Decatur, IL.
New employees are required to successfully complete a 90-day probationary period. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for safely operating plant equipment and producing quality products at two locations.
Loading/unloading materials and product.
Performing industrial sanitation and plant clean-up.
Use SAP and other computer programs for daily operational tasks.
Contribute as a team member for operational, safety, and food safety teams.
Various operation based tasks that support our goals at Decatur.
Maintain and execute all food safety requirements.
Applicants MUST meet the following minimum requirements to be considered:
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum 2 years agricultural, industrial, or production/operations related experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience with computers, including but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook.
Ability to be both a successful team contributor and work independently
Able to fluently speak, read, write English
Ability and initiative to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to reliability and continuous improvement.
Proven strong attention to detail, problem solving and decision making.
Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification.
Ability and willingness to frequently lift up to 65 lbs on daily basis.
Ability and willingness to work overtime, including holidays and weekends as necessary.
Ability and willingness to travel between facilities as necessary.
2 year degree from a technical/vocational school
Food industry experience
Basic maintenance experience including but not limited to lubrication technologies, condition monitoring experience, and task based preventative maintenance.
Experience with SAP
Experience filling drums/totes
Experience operating heavy equipment
This is a physically demanding job. You will be required to work in all types of weather conditions.
