This position, located in System Shared Services , will report to the DMV Server and Engineering Supervisor and play a supporting role in the design, administration and maintenance of the DMV Windows 2000/2003/2008 server farms and in a high level support position for the DMV Help Desk. This position is also the key position for backup management, Tier 3 helpdesk tickets, and Anti-Virus management. Provide second/third tier support for DMV Help Desk by troubleshooting and resolving server and desktop problems on the DMV Network. Enterprise Data Backup and Recovery Administrator. Endpoint protection Administrator. Responsible for server maintenance and support for DMV network and application servers. Responsible for documentation of all support calls, vendor service calls, proactive maintenance. Provide the SNE manager weekly reports/updates. Through research and evaluation of current technology, provides recommendations for improving network systems. On-call support.
Minimum and Additional Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Management and one year of Windows 2003/2008 support/administration experience or year for year equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong problem solving skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette required. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server operating systems. Ability to work as part of a team. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory environment required. Ability to administer back-ups (Netbackup), anti-virus, and handle tier 3 trouble tickets. Experience with Data Domain a plus but not required. Microsoft MCTS preferred but not required.
Position may require occasional overnight travel. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs, use a ladder, be able to use basic hand tools and must possess a valid driver's license. Position will require occasional weekend work. Must be available on-call as necessary. Employee has general discretion to use own good judgment in accordance with industry Best Practices and procedures.
