Major/Essential Duties of Job
Conducts home visits to military Families with children from birth to 3 years of age.
Provides educational programs regarding social and health issues to new parents.
Contacts Families to acquire demographic information, conducts Family interviews, and reviews appropriate community health information.
Consults with Branch and Program Managers on services and risk assessment.
Sets goals and provides program services and resources for Families.
Provides educational programs to Families by visiting when Soldier is home and can best participate. Visits regularly and on a schedule to develop rapport with the military Family.
Develops educational material.
Provides assistance in the marketing of program to target audience.
Develops and completes required program reports as necessary and completes individual reports and annual plan of work as required.
Inputs and tracks client data entry for duty performed/services provided into the Central Tracking System (CTS).
Participates in training to improve professional and technical skills.
Performs assigned duties to support emerging Army Community Service Division/Family Advocacy Program needs, such as staff the Family Assistance Center and conduct deployment briefings.
Works under the general supervision of the Texas AgriLife Extension Service Military Program Director and receives program supervision, direction, and technical guidance from the Chief, Advocacy and Prevention Branch and the Program Manager, New Parent Support Program, Army Community Service.
Responsible for working cooperatively with other staff.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of the Branch and Program.
Occasional Duties
In the event of extended troop deployment and mobilization or to natural disaster operations, the Installation Family Assistance Center (FAC) may be mobilized and you will be expected to work varying shifts/hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays and work outside your normal duty position and perform other duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of the Branch and program.
Based on the program area in which you will be working, you may be required to work after duty hours, on weekends, or holidays to meet programming needs.
Required Education:
Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with a current unrestricted license in Nursing
OR
Masters of Social Work (MSW) Degree with a current license to practice independently in their state of licensure and secure Texas licensure in field of practice
OR
Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Degree with a current license to practice independently in their state of licensure and secure Texas licensure in field of practice.
Preferred Education: Required Experience:
BSN will have two years of Post Degree direct experience in child maltreatment and/or domestic abuse prevention or treatment, Maternal Child Health, Community Health, or Mental Health
OR
Licensed MSW will have two years of Post Masters direct experience in child maltreatment and/or domestic abuse prevention or treatment
OR
Licensed MFT will have two years of Post Masters direct experience in child maltreatment and/or domestic abuse prevention or treatment.
Demonstrated professional and technical competency and the ability to apply knowledge to the solution of problems.
Demonstrated ability to listen, understand, and respond to the public.
Preferred Experience: Required licenses, certifications, or registrations:
If applying with a BSN, you MUST have a current unrestricted license in Nursing
OR
If applying with a MSW Degree, you MUST have a current license to practice independently in your state of licensure and secure Texas licensure in field of practice.
OR
If applying with Master's Degree in MFT, you MUST have a current license to practice independently in your state of licensure and secure Texas licensure in field of practice.

This is a term-limited (temporary) position; continuation beyond September 30, 2012, is contingent upon availability of funds.
Texas law requires that males 18 through 25 show proof of compliance with federal Selective Service law in order to be eligible for employment.
Must have a current drivers license and proof of automobile insurance. This position requires official duty travel.
