Art History Faculty

College of DuPage seeks a full-time, tenure track faculty member to teach introductory courses in art history, art appreciation, and other general education courses in art. Expertise in nonwestern art is a plus. Additional duties include advising students, curriculum development, and committee work. Teaching schedule may include assignments on days, evenings and weekends, and using alternative delivery formats such as on-line instruction.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach the full range of introductory level art appreciation and art history courses with experience in teaching nonwestern art. The successful candidate will be expected to develop curriculum which serves the needs of students and community, to work collaboratively with professional colleagues, and to demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional growth.

DUTIES OF POSITION:
Required
M.A. in Art History
College-level teaching experience in Art History
Knowledge of courseware and electronic course management systems Preferred
Ph.D. in Art History or related field
Community college teaching experience
Demonstrated ability to teach in the area of nonwestern art
On-line teaching experience

This position is available August 2013. Starting salaries are dependent on education and experience. College of DuPage also offers a generous benefits plan.
