Center for Diagnostic Imaging (CDI), is a national organization with an unsurpassed reputation for quality, advanced imaging services, subspecialty radiologists, and thoughtful, patient-centered care. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 am- 4:30 pm.

The Cash Application & Refund Specialist ensures accurate and timely posting of payments, discounts, adjustments and refunds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Creates a positive experience for every customer, every day by believing in and practicing the CDI Experience

Ensures that receipts, discounts and adjustments are accurately posted to patient accounts in a timely manner to meet department goals

Identifies contractual networks to ensure accurate discounts are posted

Processes the explanation of benefits (EOB) bin, which includes zero paid EOB’s that require adjustments

Identifies, researches and issues refunds and/or makes journal entry adjustments on credit balance accounts when appropriate

Handles all calls associated with credit balance accounts

Ensures receipt batches balance and tie to bank deposits on a daily basis

Identifies and researches uncashed refund checks and contacts payors or patients if necessary

Works the AORE credit report on a daily basis

Posts receipts on a daily basis or at a maximum within two days from lockbox date

Closes out end of month on time by processing all receipts and journal entries

Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions

Ability to pay attention to the smallest details involved in taking service to the next level

Ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff using excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to remain calm in difficult situations

Ability to be at work on time and as scheduled

Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols

Knowledge of basic level computer skills

Knowledge of current HIPAA guidelines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years medical business office experience required including knowledge of various payors and a understanding of contractual discounts

High school degree or equivalent

Previous DISC experience preferred Ability to type 30 wpm
