The Way Forward
As a Build and Deployment Engineer, you will work closely with the development teams to automate application build and deployment. With a build and deployment focus, you will participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow. You will also adhere to IT Control Policies throughout design, development and testing and incorporate Corporate Architectural Standards into all application design specifications. Additionally, you may be required to document detailed development operations processes; develop/enhance deployment scripts and processes. You will participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are align to architectural guidelines, identify/troubleshoot application related issues, and review and provide feedback to any required documentation.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Information Technology (IT) or related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years relevant software build and deployment work experience.
Requires basic understanding of networks, network topology, domains, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, SQL, IIS 5/6, SMTP, WSUS
Working knowledge of core development technologies such as .NET and VB and how to deploy these technologies.
Experience with Unix Scripting
Experience using build tools such as Hudson/Jenkins
Experience working within a structured software development methodology.
Experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail a must.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter, and within a team environment.
Banking and/or financial services industry experience a plus.
