A senior technical professional that demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Essential Responsibilities
This role will require proactive, self-motivated leadership qualities with technical depth. In this role you will provide leadership, technical design guidance and project level management in the planning, evaluation, design, development, implementation, operation and control of IT solutions for Rail applications and associated supporting solutions. You will be the primary liaison between business owners, support teams, strategy and governance teams. In this role of Business Solutions Leader for Initiatives, you will:
Act as a liaison with internal IT departments, GECA IT, IT vendors, and functional partner to ensure technology needs are met.
Assist the functional stakeholder in defining IT initiatives, developing business cases, prioritizing projects and gaining approval for investments.
Work as a business partner with client leaders and users to evaluate / improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions.
Act as subject matter expert for assigned area processes and supporting applications functionality and primary liaison to functional managers
Works with Architecture on positioning of application in the overall Architecture Blueprint, identification of effects of blueprint changes and ensuring that application architecture and lifecycle plans are in place.
Maintain current knowledge of new system management practices and information technologies that are applicable to business objectives and creatively promote their use
Assure conformance to system architecture, methods, standards and practices and promote their creation
Lead in the evaluation / implementation of third party software solutions
Serve as solution delivery expert for the design and implementation of assigned application
Support CIO in developing IT budgets and translate to demand forecasting.
Accountable for completion of all work executed by their team (on time, on budget, technical & functional requirements delivered, consistent cycle time and cost effectiveness improvement)
Be accountable for operational excellence of assigned program(s), with duties including project reviews, feasibility, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, initiation, execution, and closure for all project work related to the program
Motivate team by creating a sense of purpose to meet the goals of the business through coaching and leading by example
Develop an open quality culture within the organization that fosters issue discussion and decision-making based on quality and compliance objectives Qualifications/Requirements YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 19 OF THE FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE ACT
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering degree
5+ years’ experience in application development and management of IT projects
3+ years of experience with delivering and maintaining IT applications and infrastructure in a financial services environment
3+ years’ experience managing IT professionals.
Demonstrated delivery of $1million plus program/projects including schedule, resource and financial control and reporting

Leadership Training Program Experience (IMLP, OMLP, FMP)
Technical depth in one or more of our technology areas (Java, RPG, EGL, Oracle)
Strong cross-functional team player with ability to work in a matrix structure, across time zone and national boundaries
Imaginative and a Clear Thinker.
Exceptionally strong organizational, facilitation and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex problems, analyze options and navigate diverse perspectives and objectives.
ITIL and/or Black Belt certification
Strong team player that collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources.
Demonstrated business acumen, possess strong analytical, and organizational skills.
