Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
  • Drives compliance with safety rules and practices for ALL MCC employees and subcontractors
  • Maintains good communication with superintendents and foreman regarding ongoing safety issues
  • Verifies compliance with all HS & E requlations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines
  • Conducts accident / incident investigations to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive safety measures and reporting findings to the Safety Department
  • Prepare reports of safety accidents / incidents (weekly, monthly and annual), identify trends and deficiencies in safety practices, as well as recommend corrective action
  • Coordinates efforts concerning safety violations between MCC Safety Department and Project Management team
  • Identify and implement best practices for safety performance, management and training. Perform regularly scheduled safety audtis and inspections of projects and facilities. Complete appropriate follow-up and reports
  • Deliver, participate and develop the training of employees on safety policies, procedures and regulations
  • Possess previous Safety experience
  • Familiar with OSHA Construction standards, industry concepts, safe work practices and procedures within the safety field
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • MUST possess OSHA 30 HR card - Construction
  • MUST possess current CPR / First Aid certification
  • MUST be detail - oriented with strong organizational skills
  • MUST have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • MUST be an effective problem solver; proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to evaluate and address safety issues in a professional manner
  • MUST be able to multi-task
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
