SUMMARY:
To ensure focus on the 3rd party vendor applications that provide critical business services, a new team will be formed as part of the Application Production Services organization. This team will provide services related to the integration, management and partnerships with 3rd party application vendors.

The Claim IT Production Services organization is currently seeking an IS Manager to lead the new 3rd party vendor application team. This IS Manager will be responsible for managing a team focused on daily ongoing support, as well as helping to set and achieve longer term strategic goals that will increase stability and resiliency, and strengthen the vendor partnerships.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages staff to the operational plan for ongoing vendor support work
Works across Claim organization to ensure changes and impact to vendor software are communicated
Ensures vendor software results in the highest level of sustainability and availability aligned with business requirements
Ensures strong partnerships and relationships with 3rd party vendors
Proactively manage our vendors through the use of metrics and SLAs
Manages and works closely with vendors to resolve all production outages and issues in a timely manner, including root cause analysis and short and long term resolution activities
Provides the division and business areas management with timely and accurate information regarding the performance of our vendors
Responsible for all aspects of human resource management of staff

Uses this understanding of the business and systems environment to develop appropriate and timely solutions to daily issues. Has conceptual knowledge of varying technologies and the ability to make decisions based on that knowledge. Has thorough understanding of staff responsibilities, abilities and development needs

Develops a portion of an overall divisional budget subject to review and is responsible for expense control for the units assigned. Demonstrates sound cost-effectiveness. Failure to achieve objectives can result in delays or inefficiencies requiring the readjustment of resources and/or staff. Responsible for important and confidential information

Demonstrates good interpersonal skills by displaying an understanding of the needs and perspective of others. Able to balance the workload of team members and supervise individuals of varying abilities. Able to identify the talents of others and match them to the tasks that will best suit the unit goals and/or provide growth for the individual. Able to assess and identify employee development and put together a training plan for the individual. Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of staff performance evaluations and development planning. Recruits and retains effective staff members. Demonstrates a capacity to recognize, value and respect differences across a diverse work force
