Human Resource Support
O&R HR Support is seeking to hire a Senior Specialist to join its team. A Bachelor’s Degree or a Nursing Degree (NP or PA) is required. All candidates must have 3-5 years of managerial experience in an occupational health-related field. Master’s Degree in Health Administration or Public Health or Nursing is preferred. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal, communications, critical thinking, problem solving and organization skills. Analytical and problem solving abilities are also a must. Must demonstrate an ability to acquire a thorough working knowledge of Company policies, procedures, legal requirements, safety practices and position functions. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in MS Office products. Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to various Company locations within the O&R and CECONY service territory.
Responsible for administering the company’s Occupational Medical Program. Provide oversight of the company’s contractor physician for all Occupational Medical Services. Oversee post injury/illness intervention, follow-up and return to work processes for all affected employees. Coordinate with the company’s vendor Sedgwick and Law department on Workers’ Compensation related matters. Administer the Company’s Drug and Alcohol programs. Ensures implementation of Company safety, health and environmental programs for employees whose work is directed. Ensures that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations. Is committed to the Way We Work Principles, and adheres to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct and other Company procedures including Environmental, Health and Safety (“EH&S”), Equal Employment Opportunity (“EEO”), discipline, and security. Schedules and coordinates Occupational medical exams including Fit Testing as part of annual medicals. Maintain matrix of required Occupational exam components for various job classifications. Manages the vendor contract requirements and specifications for Company Medical Services.
Provides advice and counsel on all Occupational Medical requirements with appropriate organizations. Follows up on first aid and medical treatment injuries to verify whether a case has escalated in severity. Schedules and coordinates post incident medical evaluations, as well as schedule and coordinate return to work evaluations. Assigns Sedgwick Case Manager as required. Provides appropriate information about the injury/illness to company physician. Consults with operating organizations and Safety Department in relation to restricted/light duty programs. Maintains accurate and up to date case management records and periodically provides status of cases pending. Coordinates with the company’s vendor Sedgwick and Law department on workers’ compensation-related matters.
Provides appropriate information and guidance as needed to help Sedgwick manage worker’s compensation claims. Reviews claims with Law, Human Resources and Sedgwick. Oversees the Company’s Drug and Alcohol programs. Provides oversight to the company’s vendor for employee Drug and alcohol testing in conformance with 49 cfr 392 (CDL) and 49 cfr 199 (PHMSAA). Serves as Program Manager for the Drug and Alcohol program; schedules and coordinates employee random testing, including follow up when positive results are determined. Provides oversight and guidance for Contractor Drug and Alcohol program, as well as manage the vendor/contract requirements and specifications for the company Drug and alcohol testing program.
Acquires and maintains knowledge of local and community resources and outreach programs which may be helpful to employees during or after treatment. Assists in advice and counsel on all Drug and Alcohol program requirements to all company organizations. Maintain program requirements and update per regulatory changes as needed. Manages the follow up testing requirements for RTD employees. Maintains employee CDL and Gas Pipeline Drug and Alcohol random pools. Participates in the Company’s emergency management processes and storm plans as required. Performs other related assignments, as required.
