Research and develop electronics and electrical engineering test methods, protocols and equipment to support the manufacturing of advanced video imaging systems for medical and veterinary applications. Develop and provide hardware and software performance, environmental and reliability lab test services. Develop and conduct design verification tests on prototype and production model devices, incorporating Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) methods. Troubleshoot products to the sub-assembly and component level; resolve ESD and EMI issues. Develop automated test methods using LabView plus Visual Basic & Assembly programming. Apply knowledge of electronic components (FPGA, CPLU & microcontrollers), digital display technologies
(OLED & LCD) and image quality metrics to contribute expertise to the system design and qualification of new products. Use Mentor PADS Logic and knowledge of VHDL to review component designs and advise re: comprehensive product specifications; recommend changes to improve reliability. Specify lab equipment, test fixtures, test protocols and documentation; test technicians.
Masters degree in Engineering and 2 years of experience as an Electronics Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Test Engineer, E.E. Consultant, or equivalent occupation. OR:
Bachelors degree (in Engrg) and 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience (as Electronics Engr, Electrical Engr, Test Engr, E.E. Consultant or equivalent occupation).
Qualifying experience must include:
Design/testing of FPGAs, CPLDs and microcontrollers, including resolution of ESD and EMI issues;
Image quality metrics;
Writing test procedures and conducting design verification;
Automated testing including HALT techniques;
Assembly, VB & VHDL programming.
