Business Development Manager

The Business Develoment Manager designs, communicates, and gains ownership from the countries on marketing strategies and tactics for the products under his/her responsibility. Coordinates strategy implementation with the Global Marketing, Scientific Affairs, and local marketing teams in the Latin America and Caribbean affiliates. Manages business development and project management to include Area operations processes. Responsible for managing successful new product launches in the Area; maximizes profitability of current products.
Takes a leadership role in managing activities required to achieve maximum profitability and supports the efforts at an Area and country level. Responsible for P&L for products assigned.
Operates effectively in different markets; different cultures; and different languages. Understands the Area's political and social systems; regulatory requirements; medical practices/attitudes; demographics trends; pricing strategies and reimbursement systems and competitive environments.
Responsible for the development of relationships with VIPs and Distributors in the Area. She/he is a role model for the Sales and Service group in the Area.
Bachelors degree in business administration/ technical / science discipline. MBA is preferred. Strong English language is a requirement; Spanish and/or Portuguese highly desirable. Must be sensitive to multicultural environments.
Must understand both the technology and capabilities of our products, the Diagnostics organization and understanding of how all other functional areas work together. Must understand the needs and demands of the customers and the markets we serve and the requirements of the regulatory bodies in the countries. Must have previous experience in Sales and/or Marketing, ideally a minimum of 5 years in a country. Technical or operational experience would also be beneficial. Affiliate experience strongly preferred.
