Edelman Seattle is looking for a new Assistant Account Executive to join our Consumer Team, working on a diverse range of clients in multiple industries including retail and food. The ideal candidate is diligent with the details, a digital and social media native, a strong writer and creative thinker who isn’t afraid to share ideas and opinions. This is a great opportunity to advance your experience with top consumer brands and help the team engage people across a variety of channels on behalf of our clients. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must have completed a minimum of two previous internships in public relations and/or related fields including marketing, digital/social engagement, research, community management, content development, media and publishing
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of account service staff
- Must have solid research, writing and editing skills, a sharp, attentive eye for detail and the ability to develop media relationships
- Must show sound judgment, initiative and an interest in creative problem-solving
- Must be a proactive self-starter with excellent organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines
- An interest in consumer PR including digital engagement is a must

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Demonstrate a solid understanding of the public relations industry and its basic principles
- Understand key client information, including business strategy, industry issues, products and services, key customers and competitors
- Provide client service administration support; attend meetings, handle scheduling logistics, and draft agendas and recaps
- Research, compile and analyze client media coverage. Track key metrics to determine program effectiveness
- Write, edit and proofread materials including press releases, Tweets, blog content, pitch letters, fact sheets and client correspondence
- Demonstrate knowledge of social media tools and channels
- Build lists and pitch media outlets (on and offline) and bloggers
- Help supervise and educate interns
- Participate in new business process, including research and proposal preparation
- Commit to continuous learning through Edelman University and other training opportunities
