Job Description: Responsible for professional fee coding of inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory services documented in the medical record.

Identify revenue opportunities and ensure documentation compliance. Works closely with departments to optimize reimbursement, ensure charge capture, reconciliation and provide feedback to providers. Performs coding and abstraction while maintaining a high level of productivity with at least a 95% accuracy rate. Provides applicable training/education to the providers, management, and staff concerning coding principles, governmental regulations, and third-party billing requirements to assure compliance with the rules and regulations.

Serves as a resource to the organization and network for coding and compliance as it relates to professional fee billing. Minimum Requirements: HS Diploma or equivalent. 2-5 years of professional fee coding/auditing experience in a multi-specialty environment. In-depth knowledge of medical terminology: anatomy and physiology: pathophysiology; CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9/ICD-10 CM coding classification systems; regulatory agency requirements; and health care statistics computation required.

Influenza vaccination will be required for all personnel working within LVHN, who have patient contact, unless medically contraindicated or due to a bonafide religious belief or practice. Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of professional fee coding/auditing experience in a multi-specialty environment College degree in a health care field preferred. Knowledge of IDX, EHMR, Centricity and MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Access) preferred. Licensure and Certifications: CPC, CCS-P, and/or RHIT required.
