TCI International Inc. has been a world leader in the design and manufacture of state-of-the-art, turnkey systems for radio spectrum monitoring and management, radio direction finding, and communications intelligence collection applications. TCI is located in Fremont, CA and is a wholly owned subsidiary of SPX Corporation.
This position requires experience in development of embedded software control code and algorithms for RF digital radios used for direction finding and signal monitoring. The position involves developing software for new product offerings in RF signal analysis and recording as well as maintenance of legacy software products. This is a senior engineering position supporting system-level architectures comprised of antennas, RF receivers along with software and firmware for embedded computers, microprocessors, DSPs and FPGAs hosted in a wide variety of radio communications equipment that performs control, data collection, signal analysis and human-machine interface. A demonstrated ability to design, code, integrate, document and verify embedded software and firmware and associated algorithms is essential. Detailed knowledge of and experience with embedded operating systems, C/C++, and various digital hardware host environments is required.
Code in C /C++ coding using SQL in the Microsoft Visual Studio environment to produce multi-threaded near real time applications
Code embedded software and responsible for associated algorithm development and implementation (including compliers, debuggers)
Object Oriented analysis and design (OOA, OOD).
The requirements of this position include but are not limited to:
Requires a Bachelors degree with 10+ years embedded software development experience, or MSEE with 7+ years embedded software development experience
Windows 7 & 8, and Windows Embedded host environments
application of the principles Microsoft Visual Studio
application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis
analysis of software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
consultation with other engineering staff to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software
coding, integration and test of resultant software/firmware
development of software system test methods, procedures and documentation
real-time interfacing to analog hardware
Familiarity with industry interconnection standards (such as VME) and single board computers also required
Experience with sensor and communications systems architectures, system performance modeling and analysis, advanced signal processing algorithms and architectures for RF sensing and exploitation systems
Desired Experience:Knowledge of the following skills desired for this position:
Experience with flash file systems, XML, and/or networking protocols is helpful
Familiarity with RF analog (radio) hardware, and software control of analog hardware
Familiarity with Microsoft TFS would be beneficial
Experience with firmware and software-based signal analysis.
