Rally Software is in the process of building a new IT Enterprise Engineering team, almost from scratch, to handle all internal business (not Rally product) systems engineering / integrations.
We are seeking a Mid level IT Software Engineer to be part of something exciting and with a unique opportunity to:
Help us build new processes, standards, and best practices for:
Source control management
Deployment
Design and development
Automated testing
Documentation of systems and knowledge base
Be a part of completely re-building our integrations platform
Your customers will be internal business departments and a major part of this role will be to help position our business for growth and success through mainly two venues:
Stabilizing current issues with legacy implementations
Building new, best of class solutions to include the full development life-cycle, but with an emphasis on systems integrations.
Our ideal candidate will have:
A mid level skill set with 3-6 years of direct experience working on, and integrating, internal systems, and have been exposed to a variety of technologies and problems. While you might be an expert in certain areas you are open to using new technologies, platforms, and architectures.
You are not afraid of what you don’t know - you throw yourself into a problem and “figure things out” in areas where you lack prior experience. You are comfortable getting outside your comfort zone. You explore, take action, test and prove concepts to reach the best solution. Your effectiveness is not limited by your past work and experiences, but is rather enhanced by your drive to make positive impact. You challenge the Status Quo and are not hindered by past habits and practices.
While you don’t have to meet all requirements, the more you have - the better. Equal emphasis is placed on both Interpersonal and Technical skills.
Interpersonal
Is honest, respectful, and trustworthy.
Doesn’t just go with the flow - asks “Why?”.
Challenges self and others and does not mind being challenged.
Responds to statements of “That’s how we’ve always done it.” with “Is there a better way?”
Is not afraid to state a concern, even when no one else sees it.
Strives for excellence.
Is self disciplined.
Is a critical thinker in any situation (not just the technical ones).
Uses creativity and imagination to solve problems.
Is able to analyze problems of different nature.
Diagnoses before prescribing.
Is able to see both BIG and small picture.
Collaborates well.
Communicates well with both technical and non-technical individuals.
Can work both independently and in a team.
Is open to a variety of platforms, languages, technologies, and systems.
Is willing to learn as much as possible about our business.
Has a genuine concern for our business’ success.
