Position Summary:

The Supervisor oversees all aspects of airport and ground operations

including customer check-in, tagging baggage, boarding of flights,

loading of baggage, connecting customers, irregular operations, bag room

operations, transfer baggage, safety compliance, and cleaning of

aircraft and meeting arriving flights. The Supervisor will also provide

leadership and technical support to all Airports Crewmembers as well as

to foster growth and development based on the JetBlue Airways values,

while providing excellent customer service.

Essential Functions:

* Provides leadership and technical support to Airports Crewmembers

* Provides daily shift briefings and reports

* Plans and coordinates Crewmember shift schedules and work assignments

during irregular operations

* Determines causes for flight delays at the station and reports such

delays through Flight Clarification Report

* Evaluates daily manpower, assigns teams and ensures maximum coverage

* Monitors Crewmember performance and takes corrective action as

necessary

* Responsible for the planning and coordination of accommodating

Customers during irregular operations

* Identifies possibilities for operational improvements and takes steps

to implement them

* Ensures adherence to airport and aircraft security regulations and

reports any anomalies

* May be required to perform the duties of the Crewmember and assist

Crewmembers if the need arises

* Applies JetBlue Values in all dealings with Crewmembers

* Ad-hoc requests by General Manager

Interactions:

Supervision Received:

* Receives general instructions on what is to be done, limitations,

quality and quantity expected, deadlines, and priority of assignments

from Crewleader.

* Uses initiative in carrying out recurring assignments independently

without specific instruction but receives additional specific

instructions from Crewleader for new, difficult, or special

projects/assignments

* Consults with Crewleader on unique situations which do not have clear

precedents

Supervisory Duties:

* Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in

accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted

practices in the occupation

* Trains, assigns work to, and checks work of two (2) or more

Crewmembers or Business Partners, participates in the decision to hire,

fire, and promote Crewmembers, does not conduct the same work as

Crewmembers or Business Partners on a regular basis

* Airport Operations Crew

* Ground Operations Crew

* Airport Operations Lead

* Ground Operations Lead

Equipment:

* Computer and other office equipment

* Ground service equipment, hand held radios, scanners, LED signs, mail

and cargo

Work Environment:

* Airport operations and ramp environment which may present weather

variations and elevated noise level

* May stand continuously up to four hours at a time

* Work hours include varied shifts, nights, weekends and holidays

* Willing to travel and/or work variable hours

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

* Two (2) years customer service or ground operations experience

* Two (2) - four (4) years previous airline experience or one (1) year

JetBlue Airways experience

* One (1) to two (2) years airline supervision or Lead experience

preferred

* Must be certified and current in all responsible disciplines or must

be able to attend and complete training within 30 days (or next

available training session - but must be less than 60 days)

* Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification

Display Area (SIDA) Badge

* Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United

States Customs Clearance

* Possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and a driving record from

the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways insurance

standards

* Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is

located

* Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test and a

criminal history records check (CHRC)

* Pass a five (5) year United States Postal Service background check

* Must be able to read, write, and speak English

* Bilingual skills preferred

* Must be able to give and receive verbal communication

* Must be able to use handheld radios and headsets to communicate with

the cockpit, dispatch, and other crewmembers

* Must be at least 18 years old

* Willing to travel and/or work flexible hours/shifts, including

holidays and weekends

* Regular attendance and punctuality

* Organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the

JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Fun and Passion

* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all

capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the

aircraft

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite

* Ability to work well under pressure

* Knowledgeable in Airport Operations and Ground Operations

* Excellent time management and prioritization skills

* Exceptional communication skills; complete fluency in written and

spoken English

* Excellent customer service skills

* Excellent leadership capabilities, with ability to lead, train and

motivate

* Ability to think creatively
