As the product manager for core products (SRX, VSX, and HBAs), you are responsible for driving innovation into the product line. By working closely with sales and direct customer interaction, you will define the products, features, and roadmap. An ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of storage architecture, traditional storage area networks, as well as traditional data networks such as Ethernet and TCP/IP. Expert knowledge of storage subsystems is required (RAID, LUNs, HBAs, Snapshots, Data Mirroring, Data Replication, Disaster Avoidance and Recovery, Disk to Disk backup). A strong understanding of operating systems and virtual machines is also required. This role requires a strong understanding of systems. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to think through the details of a single product while juggling the needs of an entire system.

Essential Functions:

Manage VSX Product Line
  • Continue to develop features for LVM, snapshots, mirroring, replication
  • Guide engineering teams to develop and innovate HA and DR features
  • Manage HW platform and drive product transitions
  • Ensure product compatibility across all platforms, including Core, Management and UI
Manage SRX Product Line
  • Maintain disk drive compatibility matrix
  • Drive new storage features into roadmap
  • Manage HW platform and drive product transitions
  • Maintain coordination between Core and Management product line
Manage HBA Product Line
  • Drive engineering to keep up with latest releases for our current HBAs.
    • MS Windows Server (2003, 2008, Core)
    • Linux (Enterprise editions of RHEL and SUSE)
    • Solaris (Open source and Oracle flavors)
    • VMware, XenServer
  • Drive new features and functionality into HBA product line
    • Performance
    • Manageability
  • Drive new physical adapters into engineering release cycle
    • Traditional PCI adapters
    • Mezzanines for Blades (HP, Dell, Cisco, IBM)
Experience:
  • Bachelor or Masters of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of product management experience with a track record of successful products
  • 5 years of engineering experience bringing any product to market
