Denbury is currently searching for an HSE Environmental Coordinator for our office in Gillette, WY or Baker, Montana.
Responsible for emergency management, emergency preparedness, response drills, and development of spill and emergency plans.
The position will be based in Gillette, WY or Baker, MT and will report directly to the HSE Field Operations Manager. The position will be required to conduct travel to field locations and regulatory workshops & conferences.
Ideally, the position will be filled by someone who has excellent organizational and multitasking skills and prior work experience and/or an accreditation in a similar field. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Provide technical and regulatory expertise in emergency/spill planning & environmental permit compliance.
Review and audit SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure) Plans, Facility Response Plans (FRP), and
Emergency Response Plans (ERP).
Manage incidents and emergency response events as necessary
Facilitate emergency response drills
Maintain knowledge of current regulations and best practices related to environmental compliance and emergency preparedness.
Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences to keep abreast of emerging emergency response techniques and environmental issues
Participate in root cause analyses as needed
Ensure compliance with environmental permits
Communicate with federal, state and local regulatory agencies
Manage budgets and costs
Successfully interact with all Depts within the organization
Prepare weekly status reports for submission to supervisor, and other reports/summaries related to work activities
Provide HAZWOPER & NIMS ICS Training to Denbury personnel
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
10 years of experience in emergency/spill response management
Ability and willingness to take on assigned projects through completion
Ability and willingness to travel to field locations including out-of-state locations on a extensive basis
Working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet, and web based applications
Public communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Valid drivers license
Live in or relocate to Gillette, Wyoming area (Relo assistance provided)
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work will primarily be conducted in an office environment; however, travel may be required and may include many settings including the district office, field offices, and oil and gas production facilities on land and water. Work may require standing, stooping, walking, climbing, carrying instruments weighing up to 40 pounds, and wearing various personal protective equipment. In addition, work may require travel by land, water, and air.

High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree a plus
