The Senior Plant Engineer will apply in-depth technical knowledge and expertise to complex engineering and construction projects for one or more of the following disciplines: civil/structural, control systems, electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical.
Plan and coordinate programs and large-scale engineering projects or several medium projects while acting as a technical specialist for a specific engineering field. May be responsible for all aspects of work scope, often directing consultants, conducting feasibility studies, determining staff and cost estimates and recommending engineering criteria. Coordinate, administer and provide technical direction to less experienced engineers. May research new developments and technology and make recommendations to management on their feasibility for Company operations. Monitor projects and recommend modifications to increase operating efficiency and/or review design and documentation of complex projects to ensure compliance with design specifications, schedules and any regulatory requirements. May develop, negotiate and manage contracts and contract revisions. Interface with internal and external customers, outside agencies and regulatory authorities. Maintain a thorough knowledge of new developments and technology.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical) plus eight (8) years engineering experience, or Professional Engineer designation plus eight (8) years engineering experience or 12 years equivalent combination of technical education and experience. (Fossil requirements; the latter is to be approved by a Technical Review Board) Must possess in-depth knowledge of energy analysis, engineering applications, business, and finance, applicable codes, standards, practices and methods in the area of assigned discipline In-depth understanding of construction, operating and engineering practices safety rules company policies and union agreements
