Alabama State University, University Relations, invites applications for the position of Student Service Center Facility Manager. The selected applicant will, under general supervision, report directly to the Facilities Director and is responsible for the overall leadership, operation and day-to-day management of the Student Service Center. The Facility Manager is responsible for administrative operations and services; emergency actions plans; policy and procedure development implementation and communication; construction, renovation and facility management; supervision and staff development, and budget management. This position will develop, implement, maintain and enforce operational procedures; ensure that all spaces in the facility are properly maintained and all utility systems are in working order; supervise facility and space usage, operations, facility upkeep, signage, equipment/furniture maintenance and upgrades within facility; supervise and train event staff; assist in developing and maintaining a long-range plan for the operation of facility and establish preventative maintenance measures; coordinate with the public safety to develop appropriate emergency and safety action plans for the facility; establish and administer procedures for events and coordinates events with other student organizations, student activities and other departments and external clients; ensure that all events scheduled in the facility are carried out based on specifications; assist with event set-ups and ensure events scheduled in the facility are properly staffed; develop relationships with university departments and other key departments such as Public Safety, Buildings and Grounds, Auxiliary Enterprises in the delivery of quality service and programs; develop systems to ensure consistency in operations and the delivery of services offered; supervise the management of assets and inventory; insure systems for regular repair and replacement; provide facility guide information and conduct tours as needed; enforce all building policies as outlined in the Facility Use Agreement and Rules and Regulations ; participate in the implementation of life safety and emergency programs as needed for the safe execution of facility and to promote a safe working environment for all employees; represent the facility and the university at trade shows and conventions; develop and maintain effective relationships with service contractors and other suppliers; develop plans to anticipate issues of traffic flow and crowd control and take necessary steps to ensure the safety of all buildings users and patrons; prepare and maintain annual budget for building use and facility maintenance and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations or other related field, 3 years of experience in marketing/sales, events management field and possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record are required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
