Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Well Intervention/Completions Engineer to be located in Lafayette, Louisiana through Thursday, Frbruary 28, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Cost estimates and scoping of data for alternative well options – consider “life of well issues” (e.g. future work-overs and through tubing recompletions).
Recommend completion type (e.g. HRWP, no sand control, surge/no surge, degree of underbalance, commingling, one trip, multi-zone frac pack or conventional frac pack).
All aspects of Well Intervention/Completion program design, development and permitting.
Coordinate the gathering of pre-job data for design criteria and performance of existing similar completions – (tubing design, connection & metallurgy selection (work with ETC), corrosion mitigation plan - Inj Mandrels, etc)
Equipment procurement / forecasting.
Participation in CPDEP phase gate meetings.
Vendor evaluation and selection with direction from the Superintendent.
Participate on a Rig team to monitor and execute the well intervention/completion program. Equipment types supervised include platform and JU rigs, HWO units, electric line, coiled tubing, and plug and abandonment operations.
Supply engineering and technical support to the Superintendent and DSMs/WSMs as necessary to execute the well intervention or completion operation.
Bachelors degree in Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of directly related experience.
Completion engineering and cased hole / workover experience.
Competent in the design and installation of completions and intervention methods including rig, hydraulic workover, electric line, and plug and abandonment operations.
Strong communication and leadership skills for interaction with technical employees in the work group, their peers, and both internal and external customers. Ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a team setting.
Promotes safety and maintenance of a safe work environment ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.
Some trips to rig are required.
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
