MISSISSIPPI NATIONAL GUARD

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED : This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS : Prior to placement in this position, the selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible position as required by TPR 303. Although conditions of employment, such as grade/rank restrictions, medical, technician compatibility, etc., are not used to determine an applicantÂ’s eligibility to apply for a position, the applicant must meet the conditions prior to appointment in the position. The compatibility requirements for this position are:

Military Appointment & DAOC/DMOS: Enlisted - CMF 15; MOS 68A or 91E

Minimum & Maximum Military Grade: E1 - E9 (Note: You must provide proof with application of eligibility to hold appropriate military grade.)

AREA OF CONSIDERATION : This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is restricted to member of the Mississippi Army National Guard.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must maintain membership in National Guard for continuous employment. DUTIES:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position performs maintenance, removal, installation, inspection, troubleshooting and testing of aircraft rotor and propeller systems. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
WG-10: Applicants must possess 18 months of specialized experience which has provided the applicant with (1) experience in repairing, rebuilding, or overhauling aircraft systems and major components using the tools of the trade, (2) experience which demonstrates the skill to align, adjust, and rig systems and controls after the replacement of parts, components, and major repairs,

(3) experience in operating a variety of measurement, test, and diagnostic equipment utilized in troubleshooting and repair of aircraft, (4) experience in inspecting the full range of mechanical systems with the ability to analyze existing or foreseeing problems and recommend corrective action, and (5) experience using a wide variety of technical publications to include complex schematics and specifications.

NOTE: Your application must contain a description of both civilian and military experience as it relates to the general and specialized experience requirements.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS : Selected individual must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance for this position and/or the compatible military position.

MEDICAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : A pre-placement physical examination may be required for this position. Selected individual must maintain any medical/physical standards for this position and/or the compatible military position.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:
Job-related education/training in aviation technology may be substituted on a day-for-day basis for not more than one half of the required specialized experience.

PARTICIPATION IN DIRECT DEPOSIT IS MANDATORY.
