Responsible for design, definition, and implementation of complex systems for customers, preparing studies and analyzing existing systems.
Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
Ensures accurate root
cause analysis of uncovered issues.
Develops and recommends corrective actions.
Prepare technical statements of work and discuss with account teams and customers.
Systems Engineer should have experience with, or strong knowledge of the following:
Undergraduate degree and 2-4 years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 0-2 years relevant experience.
BIOS or Firmware debugging and development experience a plus
OS subsystems - namely process, storage, memory, file systems, etc.
Linux experience and be able
to build and deploy custom kernel
Experience porting device drivers and applications
debugging and packaging device drivers a plus)
Assembly, C, C++, and/or Java programming skills and should have experience with scripting languages like Shell, Perl or Python, VBscript, WMI and WSMAN
Analytical skills required to troubleshoot technical issues during solution testing and validation
Experience with systems management and network management products would be a plus
Experience with enterprise server hardware
including, SCSI/RAID controller, NIC cards, memory modules, Remote Access Cards, etc.
Knowledge of Systems Mgmt. Life Cycle phases such as Automated Deployments, Change Mgmt., and Monitoring of heterogeneous OS environments
Testing with automated scripts or test harnesses in a heterogeneous OS environment
Knowledge and experience of the fundamentals of networking
Ability to work directly with customers
Should have good written and verbal communication skills and strong teamwork capabilities
Should be a self-starter, proactive, and resourceful
Should have excellent time mgmt., skills and the flexibility to be able to manage multiple project at any given time
Insight, maturity, and skill to effectively manage/deal with cultural and work style differences
