Washington Humane Society is seeking an outgoing, detail-orientated and creative individual to join our Field Services Dispatch team. The person who is hired into this role will help ensure field officers are provided with continuous, accurate and complete information regarding calls for service during the business hours of 7:30am – 10:30pm. WHS is the only Congressionally-chartered animal welfare agency in the United States and operates two open-admission shelters, a Humane Law Enforcement department and other progress program and services designed to protect animals.
The Field Service Dispatcher will work along seven field officers who respond to approximately 16,000 calls for service each year rescuing countless animals in need on a continuous round-the-clock basis. The successful candidate will provide quality customer service to callers related to field service matters and ensures that all required paperwork, log books and follow up calls are processed appropriately.

Strong attention to detail
A track record of successful relationships with colleagues, subordinates and customers
Excellent communication skills, knowledge of resolving conflicts with domestic and wild animals.
Demonstrated interpersonal relationship skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required, college courses preferred. Experience with animal handling a plus. Full time position with rotating work schedule which will include evenings and weekends. Candidate must have strong working knowledge of handling a multi-line phone system.
