POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the surgeons in the management of patients, as well as to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under the supervision of the surgeon. The NursePractitioner works closely with and assists the surgeon in providing quality, efficient, ongoing, cost-effective care in in-patient, outpatient, and operating room settings under the direction of the supervising physician.
Operating room activities of this position are performed as specifically directed and supervised by the surgeon in attendance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelorâs Degree with a major in Nursing from a State Board of Nursing approved school, satisfactory completion of an approved nurse practitioner program, ⢠Practitioner must be certified in CPR
⢠The Nurse Practitioner must have DEA registration for controlled substances.
⢠Three yearsâ experience in Urology, with at least some of that experience in surgery, is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
⢠Experience in a teaching hospital or other academic health care setting is also preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/CREDENTIALING
⢠Current State of Arizona RN license,
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the Arizona State Board of Nursing, and prescribing privileges through the Arizona State Board of Nursing;
The incumbent must obtain both University of Arizona Medical Center credentialing/clinical privileges and Faculty Practice Plan credentialing before hire date.
⢠In addition, credentialing/clinical privileging from any other affiliated institutions in which the incumbent will have patient care responsibilities is required.
