Center for
Women and Children.

As the major
teaching hospital for the state’s OB/GYN program, Kapi'olani has a
highly
trained team of physician specialists, nurses, technologists and
therapists
that share a special understanding of women's needs. The Carter

Unit at
Kapi’olani is a pediatric unit dedicated to the care of patients from

birth to
approximately 6 to 8 years of age.

The experienced team in the Carter Unit
provide care including complex
medical surgical care, medically fragile children and restorative
care,
telemetry, cardiac monitoring, oxygen therapy, chest tubes, traction,

Bi-pap
ventilation, apnea monitoring, hyperbilirubinemia phototherapy, and
IV therapy
as well as pediatric medical- surgical patients age birth to 6 years
old and
postoperative open-heart surgery patients.

The Clinical Assistant
assists in performing nursing care duties and procedures as
assigned.
Performs clerical duties, as assigned. Kapi'olani is well
recognized as Hawaii's leader in the
care of women and children.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
High school or equivalent.
Completion of
nurse aide course with certification or completion of one year of a
nursing
program. Current BLS/HCP card. One year clinical
experience.

Preferred:
Current Hawai’i CNA certificate. One
year clerical experience in a healthcare setting.
