Candidate must possess in depth knowledge related to Advanced Manufacturing to include thermoplastic composite manufacturing and Direct Digital / Additive Manufacturing. Proven ability to collect and evaluate data to make decisions and to create new out-of-the-box solutions. Ability to build relationships and work effectively and efficiently with wide a variety of specialties, personalities and cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience in technology transition from applied R&D to production, project management, strategic planning, and technical consulting.

Proven knowledge and application of thermoplastic composite manufacturing & process discipline methods, tools & skills commensurate with engineering grade level. Excellent written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate at executive level. Familiarity with specifications, procedures, test plans, technical documents and formal as well as informal presentations. Demonstrated ability to correctly and practically apply material science theory to real world applications.

Extensive experience in all aspects of the product development life-cycle from initial invention, development, technology maturation, testing & qualification, transition, implementation into full production, and product sustainment.

Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and deliver results within cost and schedule. Experience leading multi-site teams. Demonstrated leadership attributes. Desired skills Extensive understanding of Earned Value Management and experience with its application to R&D programs. Familiarity with ADP contract management and government contract types.. Strong strategic management and planning skills. Broad technical experience including software development, modeling & simulation, and composite structures. Formal education in Project/Program Management. Prior experience with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics production programs and multi-site Business Area collaboration. Ability to manage multiple stakeholder expectations.

Experience in low observable materials and applications, nanotechnology, ESH / EPA policies Specific Job Description Position is in the Manufacturing Exploration and Development (MXD) group of Advanced Manufacturing Systems and Prototyping (AMS&P) directorate of ADP. Specifically, the candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team for the research, development, and implementation / transition of new composite materials and advanced manufacturing technologies. The person filling this position will be expected to perform the following functions:

(1) Program/Project Management – Liaison to the Corporate Engineering and Technology (CE&T) Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (AM/N) Integrated Product Team including interfacing with internal and external customers, planning, budgeting, and scheduling for multi-year IRAD development projects
(2) Process engineering – lead ongoing process development projects, investigation and implementation of alternate materials
(3) Interface with procurement, subcontractors, vendors, legal, ESH, I&D, and M&P
(4) Develop external customer base and shape CRAD opportunities
(5) Evaluate technical and economic factors, recommending engineering and manufacturing actions for attainment of design objectives or process or product by applying knowledge of composite materials science and related technologies.
(6) Perform in-house experimental development, subcontracted research and collaborative work with university and government labs.
(7) Support advanced manufacturing road mapping and strategy
(8) Mentor / cross train new technical engineers and lab personnel across multiple departments

Shall be required to work with minimal supervision, therefore must be self-motivated and confident of working independently and with teams. Occasional overtime, odd hours, and travel required. Security Clearance Secret Typical Minimums Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
