The Clinical Director mentors Inpatient Therapists and Direct Care staff regarding clinical implementation. Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates program activities to meet treatment goals. Monitors trends, legislation and regulations that are relevant to the program’s mission and makes program and advocacy recommendations to the Administrator and committees. Provides orientation and ongoing on-the-job training to assigned staff. Provide timely consultation and feedback to program staff. Documentation reflects professional standards. Assures patient’s rights; acts to prevent, identify, and report abuse.

Develops, directs and implements public relations and communication strategies to support targeted clinical, financial, and performance improvement goals and increase positive community awareness of program. Collaborates with professional contacts, neighborhood groups and businesses, service providers, regulatory agency liaisons to strengthen and expand professional relationships and business development. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Provides effective leadership and works well with others in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Adjusts communication to meet the cultural, educational, diagnostic and/or age specific of individuals. Maintains therapeutic boundaries. Interact therapeutically with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff. Maintain a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and engages in constructive interactions. Treats others with respect. Demonstrated ability to lead, collaborate and compromise. Accept constructive feedback regarding performance. Provide constructive feedback to coworkers and new staff. Act as role model. Demonstrate leadership and initiative.

Act in accordance with established safety protocols; is familiar with and able to implement emergency preparedness and infection control protocols. Assure safety training is conducted, and investigates injuries and safety incidents involving direct care staff. Act to promote patient safety standards. Assures supervision is maintained in accordance with patient level of care. Conduct safety checks and searches in a thorough, timely and respectful manner. Effectively averts/maintains restraint and seclusion at minimal levels through effective consistent use of early intervention, structure, limit setting, and de-escalation skills in response to patient aggression and acting out, without injury to patients. Maintain work safety record for program, advocates safety practices, and assures staff and patient safety and well-being. Assures maintenance of a clean, orderly safe environment; emergency preparedness, and infection control. Assures timely maintenance by maintenance personnel. Assures safe and sanitary storage of equipment and supplies.

Supports facility mission, vision and values. Recommends policies to the administrator and administers approved policies. Creates and maintains best practices to attract, train and recognize compassionate workers. Maintain positive attendance record and consistently arrives in a timely manner. A dhere to facility standards of conduct and policies and procedures.

Maintain continuing education and personal development appropriate for position. Attend relevant training, community functions, and organizational meetings. Maintain required certifications. Take initiative to assure quality service delivery, identify concerns and potential opportunities for growth. Demonstrate flexibility in meeting organizational needs. Maintains general expectations. Actively guides and supports facility mission and program philosophy. Provides coverage as needed at any of the facility sites. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Training:

Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling.

Licensure/Certification:

Current Oklahoma licensure ( LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LBP, LPC). Current Oklahoma Driver’s License (Required for staff on Driver’s List)

Experience:

Five years administrative and/or clinical leadership experience in a behavioral health or hospital treatment setting with children and adolescents.
