GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.As an Auxiliary Plant Operator (APO) for GE O&M (Operations & Maintenance), you will have hands-on responsibility to operating, monitoring chemistry and performing routine maintenance on a combined-cycle power plant utilizing GE 7FB gas turbines and a Toshiba steam turbine. In this role of Power Plant Operator, you will: Essential Responsibilities
Shift responsibilities including startup and shut down of plant equipment and basic chemistry testing

Monitor and maintain all required data logs / records

Maintain log of meter and gauge reading and records data such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed

Assist in scheduling and coordinating plant outages and maintenance

Comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety policies

Operate all plant equipment / systems within scope of responsibility

Assist / perform routine maintenance of basic plant equipment

Aggressively maintain a safe working environment to include good housekeeping practices of assigned work area Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma, GED OR Technical Training via military or technical school

Minimum of 2 years of experience with the operation and maintenance of industrial equipment

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability and willingness to submit to a physical, respirator and hearing exam upon hire as required

Ability and willingness to stand / walk for up to 12 hours continuously as required

Ability and willingness to climb ladders and stairs as required Additional Eligibility Qualifications GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Strong oral and written communication skills

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a combined cycle operating plant

Minimum of 2 years of experience with machinery repair and control systems
