Responsibilities

Operate a variety of process equipment, including chemical reaction systems, distillation systems, filters, extractors, reactors, pumps, and centrifuges and any other unit operations, in compliance with prescribed operating procedures. Load and unload raw materials, intermediates, and finished products into and out of process equipment.

Monitor and record reactions, noting changes in chemical and physical properties and compositional changes of substances. Manually operate reactor systems to maintain system at specified temperature, pressure, and vacuum levels. Maintain log of gauge readings, shift production, and equipment malfunctions. Draw product samples and perform tests to ensure product meets specifications.

Qualifications

Five years experience with operating industrial chemical production plant equipment.

Well organized and detail oriented.

Basic understanding of chemical system, mechanical systems, and continuous process operations.

Familiarity with evaporation, distillation, reactors, and continuous production processes is a plus.

Basic understanding of scientific disciplines (math, chemistry, physics, reasoning, & mechanics).

Excellent mechanical, troubleshooting, reasoning and problem solving aptitude.

Ability to read and understand technical drawings including P&ID’s and flow charts and POR’s.
