General manager, Intelligent Solutions Division
About a year ago ISG (Intelligent Systems Group) embarked on an ambitious strategy to attain leadership in the IOT (internet of things) and M2M (Machine to Machine) market segment and application base. The strategy is focused on establishing a framework (ISF: Intelligent Systems Framework) to make all devices connected, secured, and managed, and integrate end point analytics to differentiate IA. Furthermore, to make the strategy successful ISG needs to establish an end-to-end architecture for distributed analytics from device to cloud. The ISD (Intelligent Solutions Division) general manager is responsible for a team of about 25 people involved in platform development, operations, marketing, business strategy, eco-system building, and open source strategies for ISF compliant capabilities, and analytics platforms. ISF plus analytics capabilities is largely a software challenge. As such, the GM will collaborate deeply with WindRiver Systems and McAfee to build a platform solution that is connected, secure and remotely manageable. ISG purchased Scientific Monitoring, Inc. in Q4'12 and integrated this team into ISD. SMI has a distributed analytics product on the market today, which will be the foundation of ISG's broader analytics strategy. The ISD GM needs to drive/enable the strategic transformation of all Intelligent Systems platforms across ISG's roadmap and portfolio (connected, managed, secure), and build an analytics business on top of this. Furthermore, the GM has to work closely with other organizations in ISG and DCSG to transform our traditional embedded eco-system into a new value chain that can deliver on integrated IOT solutions. Solution scaling is one of the challenges to be solved. The ideal GM candidate has a solid background in software strategies and development, commercial software creation, and software go-to-market plans. Furthermore, the candidate must have an extensive background in strategic business management, including the breadth of general management skills (P&L and operational management, leadership development, experience in building strong customer relationships, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to synthesize complex environments, options, and datasets).
Minimum of 5+ year experience in general management like functions, and/or group level staff positions. Preferably experience with innovative startup businesses that move quickly and know how to take advantage of the vast assets of Intel. Experience with influencing and collaboration throughout a wide range of partner organizations such as SSG, WindRiver Systems, and DCSG, including external eco-systems partners and independent software vendors. Experience in M2M/IOT technologies would be a big plus.
