Maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the field sales team
• Work in conjunction with regional management to plan, document, measure and grow assigned region
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge on all Phoenix Contact products/solutions
• Work closely with Marketing to aid in the development and preparation of presentations for seminars on product/solutions, industry trends, and key messages that will increase our value proposition to customers
• Seek innovative ways to implement key sales, marketing and distribution programs
• Develop and further the penetration of NAICS/industry related sales initiatives
• Continuously seek to provide effective and efficient sales data/analysis that will provide insight and a positive influence on our existing & future business
• Qualify and follow-up on leads within assigned territory and/or account portfolio
• Coordinate National and Global account activities
• Follow-up on quotations within assigned territory and/or account portfolio
• Aid in the development of field application notes
• Utilize iAvenue as a communication, planning, reporting, measurement and tracking tool to increase productivity
• Manage iAvenue data to ensure up to date information is reflected
• Continuously provide the highest level of professionalism and responsiveness to our field sales/customers/channel partners
• Proactively utilize all resources to maximize productivity and responsiveness
• Meet/exceed sales growth objectives for assigned responsibilities as established by the Manager of Industrial Distribution and Sales Support
• Continue personal development through an effective skill building program as determined by the Manager of Industrial Distribution and Sales Support, Director of Channel and Sales Support, and/or the Harrisburg Training Department
• A two year Associates degree in Electronics Technology with three years equivalent electrical/electronic industry experience in one or both field sales and inside sales
• Four Year Degree a plus
• Sales/sales support experience
• Strong written and oral communication skills essential
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans
• Ability to set priorities and perform tasks simultaneously
• Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
• Flexible, with the ability to work with all levels of organization
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Proficiency of R3/BASE skills to build strong relationships and drive optimum results
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AVE and Lotus Notes software
• Proficient in CRM; Baan and iAvenue a plus
• Must be able to work in a team environment to provide field sales with excellent service in a timely manner
• Willingness and ability to adapt to changing departmental needs including, but not limited to, schedule changes
• Must be able to sit for up to 4 hours at a time
• Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours a day
• Must be able to travel via airplane
• Must be able to travel overnight 20- 25% as dictated by assigned territory
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs (sample, demos, literature)
• Comply with company policies regarding attendance, attire and punctuality
