The Anesthesia Assistant is a technically skilled person, responsible for assisting in the set-up of Anesthesia equipment, assisting with changeovers, and ordering and stocking supplies wherever needed for the Department of Anesthesia. The Anesthesia Assistant works in collaboration with the Clinical Anesthesia Specialists (CASs), surgery staff, purchasing and pharmacy. The Anesthesia Assistant takes direction from the Anesthesiologists and CASs, and is supervised by the Operating Room Supervisor or Charge Nurse. The Anesthesia Assistant may be requested to be on pager standby as needed.
High School diploma required. Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and math principles preferred.
One year of hospital-experience preferred.
Good attention to detail.
Ability to accurately perform repetitious tasks.
CPR certification current.
