Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking an HVAC Technician/Facilities Mechanic. This is a full-time appointment with a to-be-determined start date, but the position is available immediately. The HVAC Technician/Facilities Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative and repair maintenance on campus facilities including electrical, mechanical and aesthetic.Job Duties include: 1.Performing preventative electrical, mechanical and aesthetic maintenance on all equipment and systems throughout facilities, including lighting systems, HVAC, plumbing and shop equipment2.Diagnosing and repairing malfunctioning production and HVAC equipment3.Performing daily electrical, mechanical and aesthetic repairs assigned through work order system on exterior/interior physical building structure, HVAC, and so on4.Monitoring HVAC systems for performance and efficiency5.Performing general ground-keeping maintenance including snow removal, weeding, pruning, and so on6.Performing other duties as required and assignedNeed to have: Skills in effective verbal, listening and written communicationAn ability to consult with internal customers and external vendors to understand issues and recommend solutionsSkills in customer serviceWorking knowledge of mechanical inspection and repairsDemonstrated mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance abilitiesAbility to safely and efficiently operate a forklift and tractorAbility to identify and resolve machine system malfunctions and operating problemsAbility to meet and maintain company driving requirementsAbility to utilize proper bending, lifting, stooping, pushing, pulling, climbing, dismounting and three-points of contact techniquesAbility to work well as a team memberBasic skills in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and OutlookA high school diploma or equivalentA valid driver's licenseNice to have: Three to five years of building maintenance experience required, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, interior finish construction, mechanical systems troubleshootingVocational or other technical school, apprenticeship, and so onCertifications in electrical, HVAC, interior finish, and so onCompensation: Midland University offers comprehensive benefits including: Wages commensurate with education, experience, and individual strengthsMedical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance403b retirement planA respectful and productive working environmentEducational benefits for employee and dependents Access to campus events, including sporting event and theatrical performancesAccess to personal athletic programsTimeline: Applications submitted by March 31st will be given preference.
