Position Overview:
Candidate must perform in a consultative, hands-on style to provide solutions that meet the requirements of the customer’s specifications and the submitted project proposal. Projects assigned are of medium complexity, have some cross-divisional impact, are focused in scope, and are typically related to core business processes. Leads multiple projects simultaneously. Each project team typically consists of 3-8 employees. Leads all aspects of the project, including scope, cost/benefit analysis, written proposal, budgets, and schedule

Role and Responsibilities:
Lead the review of project scope, budget, and schedule for compliance with customer specifications. Identify and present non-conforming issues to project sponsor and assist in resolution.
Lead the project scope change management process. Identify potential risks to the completion of the project, including resources, costs, and systems. Recommend appropriate solutions.
Lead project team meetings to gather project status information as well as to provide information and guidance to the project team members. Act as the primary customer contact between the project team and the customer. Mediate and resolve project team conflicts.
Lead appropriate and timely written communications with all project team members, department managers, customers, and IT management throughout the life of the project, through effective use of project status reports, team meeting notes, project Gantt charts, risk registers, issue logs, cost data, etc.
Lead projects ensuring they adhere to the established project methodologies, standards, tools, processes, policies, and procedures. Ensure project management methods are used during initiation, phase-gating, and closure.
Negotiate with the appropriate department managers for assignment of personnel to the project team.
Lead the timely execution of major milestone approvals with customer. Prepare necessary paperwork to document approvals.
Facilitate and follow through on all procurement requests for the acquisition of required hardware, software, and services, including delivery requirements and schedules.
Ensure documentation package is complete, meets the requirements of the customer, and has been delivered to the appropriate personnel.
Lead the review and approval of all significant project-related information prior to release to the customer.
Lead the coordination of training logistics with customer.
Lead the “Lessons Learned” review. Identify team members who should attend and facilitate the meeting.
Evaluate staff by providing feedback to team members’ functional managers.
Conduct quality assurance for tasks and deliverables.
Provide advice and guidance to project managers and systems analysts on consistent project management.
Perform other duties as required.

Experience - Qualifications - and Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
3+ years in managing a wide variety of IT projects including experience in leading technical staff, team members, and vendors.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of business processes and systems to understand the impact of project management decisions on business objectives.
Experience in documentation, presentation tools, and project management tools.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access, and SQL queries (a plus).
Experience in a Microsoft .NET/SQL/SSRS/2005/2008 Web/Windows environment.
Experience (preferred) in Medicare HMO (Health Care) or related industry, especially related to HIPAA 5010, ICD-10, or TriZetto Facets (a plus).
Ability to work under tight deadlines while providing high-quality work.
Excellent organizational skills, meeting facilitation, self-administration, attention to detail, multi-tasking, prioritization, critical thinking and analysis, decision-making, verbal and written communications, and interpersonal interactions (ability to foster a cooperative work environment).
