Learning. Evaluation. Application. Placement.
leap is an innovative year-long bank training program that recruits top talent from universities across the country. Through extensive exposure to Retail, Commercial, and Wealth Management, as well as Risk and other support areas, participants get a thorough overview of the bank as a whole. This broad perspective, along with unrivaled job preparation and skills training, develops participants into future leaders of BBVA Compass.
Unlike other bank training programs, leap does not prepare participants exclusively for one role or department in BBVA Compass. We encourage participants to explore their interests and analyze where he or she would best fit within our bank, before beginning focused training.
After program completion, participants are placed in a first assignment with a long-term focus on horizontal mobility and general management positions at an executive level. Whether in Retail, Commercial, Wealth Management, or Risk, a participant’s career will be full of diverse experiences and opportunities for movement across lines of business.
If you are looking for a dynamic and pioneering career in one of the most stable banks in the world, leap is the right program for you!
leap is divided into two phases:
Phase 1 : “Learning and Evaluation”
During the first portion of the program, participants will attend training sessions, participate in group projects, interact with executives, and complete assessments to measure strengths and interests in the three lines of business and other functional areas. Phase 1 also includes interaction with: Finance, Audit, Global Markets, Human Resources, Legal, Treasury, Compliance, Strategy, Transformation, Communications and Corporate Responsibility.
Phase 2 : “Application and Placement”
At the completion of Phase I, participants are placed in Credit, Sales and Management, or Analysis “tracks” based on participant interest, aptitude, and business needs. Participants will continue attending training sessions, and will be given more hands-on experience, applying what they have learned through job shadowing and simulations.
At the end of phase 2, targeted first assignment positions may include:
Placement will be based on performance and staffing needs at the time of program completion and participants can expect first assignments in AL, TX, CA, FL, AZ, NM, or CO. Participants are paired with a dedicated HR Partner to assist him or her along their desired career path.
