Full/Part Time Status: Full Time Position Description:
The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is presently conducting a search for a full-time Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. This is a tenure-track position at the Associate or Professor level. Major responsibilities include: providing strong leadership to the department; collaborating with collegiate leadership; faculty development and mentorship; maintaining close cooperation with other departments; and active participation in the departmental faculty practice plan. The position is available March 1, 2013; screening begins immediately. Applicants must have: a DDS/DMD from an ADA accredited institution or foreign equivalent; completion of an ADA accredited advanced training program in Pediatric Dentistry; a record of effective teaching; evidence of research and scholarly activity; relevant administrative/budget experience; and demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment. Desirable qualifications include: certification by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry; clinical practice; and experience in clinical outreach programs for underserved children. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The following must be submitted: letter of interest, CV, and three letters of recommendation.
