“Leading a city to God”-Mission Statement
•This is a ministry leadership position that bears primary responsibility for furthering the Christian spiritual development of young people through educational programs, experiential learning through Christian service, social activities, and full participation in the life and mission of Points of Light. The focus is on the needs of high school students and their families, but extends earlier, to work with middle school students and their families, and later, to work with college and post-college age young adults.
Primary Role: Sound/Media
Must be skilled in working several programs/devices such as:
- Sound board
- Pro Presenter
- Powerpoint /Microsoft Word
- Youtube (Uploading, downloading videos and footage)
- Portable sound systems (setup, breakdown)
- Create videos for POL youth group.(camps, monthly updates, fundraising, events,etc)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
•Working with administrative team to ensure success
•Project a positive company image at all times
•Demonstrate experience in leadership, working with volunteers, recruiting, organizing and supporting a collaborative team.
•Consistently grow in knowledge of your assigned district
•Creating a safe and welcoming environment devoted to offering Christian spiritual growth and nurture for the youth of Oakland.
•Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
•Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and people skills
•Have a sense of call and a passion for the emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth of young people
•Have strong spiritual disciplines such as personal prayer, devotional life, knowledge of Scripture, and faithful and regular attendance at worship.
• Must have, or be willing to work toward a Class B license.
•Must have Bachelor’s Degree
•Minimum of 20 hours a week (The time required is estimated at 20+ weekly, based on an annual calendar of activity that may have seasonal variation)
•Salary is to be contractually agreed upon at the outset of employment, and will be reviewed annually. Each director receives a $600 base pay and is responsible to raise $1,000 to be added to their salary.
•Walking/sitting for long periods of time
•Oral communication over the phone and/or in person
•Ability to view Computer monitor
•Frequent alpha/numeric keyboarding
