This interdisciplinary approach drives down the cost of risk through increased communication and coordination.Position Summary/Overview:The accounting clerk performs a variety of general accounting and support tasks with the accounting department and may specialize in one area of the accounting function.
Review and manage past due premiums and deductible recovery amounts using various collection reports. · Collect premium and deductible past due balances via telephone calls, letters, agent correspondence, emails and faxes to/from policyholders to debtor. · Ability to explain to the policyholder/agent (in general terms) the justification of the amount past due. · Evaluate the financial need of policyholders to determine if payment arrangements on debts are appropriate. · Refer premium and deductible bad debts to outside collection agencies. · File proof of claims with bankruptcy courts. Qualifications/Requirements: · High school diploma or GED · 10-key by touch · Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel · Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills · Team player with initiative Only qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
