As a Storekeeper for Idaho Transportation Department, you will be responsible for inventory control including procuring, storing, and issuing supplies for day to day operations within a specified unit for ITD.
This position involves:
Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds
May involve inclement weather working conditions
Requires valid driver’s license
Will be responsible for tracking, verifying, correcting, and reporting all ITD inventories including, but not limited to: Warehouse stock; capital assets; stockpiles; fuel; surplus items; and term storage. Familiarity with automated inventory data systems, especially AMS Financials, is a plus. Responsibilities:
Record inventory items and p repare merchandise for shipping and follow through to necessary destination
Selects supply resources and makes emergency purchases within purchasing authority
Key information in to computer to create purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, as well as track and issue stock to maintain accurate inventory
Assign charges to appropriate project/work center for supplies and materials
Receive store and issue hazardous materials per departmental procedures
Monitor on hand quantities of stock items, anticipate seasonal variances
Operate forklift to load/unload freight trucks, transporters, and dump trucks
Monitor gas card and fuel issues with fuel sites and equipment maintenance manager, order fuel
Drive vehicle to pick up and/or deliver parts
Record disposal items to track for later donation or sale
Write reports for lost, stolen, or missing property
Verify physical locations, value, and condition of property
Identify capital outlay items to be included in capital property inventory systems
Schedule repairs, maintenance, and certification of delivery equipment
Storing, issuing, shipping and receiving materials and supplies; applying purchasing procedures;
Applying inventory control methods;
Operating material handling equipment;
Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system.
Some knowledge of: safety procedures for handling hazardous materials.
