Molding Technician:
The Molding Technician is responsible for the initiation, implementation, and completion in a timely manner of the following:

Set-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting and repair of molding processes, molding machines, and auxiliary equipment (i.e. temperature controllers, water tower, chiller, etc.).

Order and maintain spare parts inventory for molding machines and equipment.

Responsible for the completion of preventive maintenance activities including scheduling PM tasks, ordering required parts, and communicating the PM status to engineering support.

Set-up and process engineering tests and protocols for quality improvement projects.

Directly involved with continuous improvement projects including cycle-time improvements and scrap reduction. Develop and implement new procedures to improve machine efficiency. Effectively delegate new procedure to the operators.

Responsible for the analysis and resolution of molded product quality issues to include machine adjustments and process changes.

Operate with no direct supervision in dealing with supporting departments. Initiate meetings with maintenance, purchasing, quality, and other departments to solve quality or machine problems.

Instruct and train personnel in the proper methods and techniques of operation and use of production machines and equipment.

Monitor all equipment operation and safety to ensure consistency of molded components.

Accurately keep production logs so that management can quickly and accurately make production decisions.

Experience requirements:
Must have experience in injection or blow molding and with setting and pulling molds.

The ability to troubleshoot both the molding process and the equipment as well as to perform repairs is required.

Physical requirements include the following:
Continuous lifting/lowering and pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds and occasionally 75 pounds or more.

Must perform fine hand manipulation tasks and possess good manual dexterity.

Continuous standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting and kneeling are required. Must tolerate frequent repetitive motions using forearms, hands, wrists and fingers.

Ability to climb ladders and occasionally work at heights.

This position is required to wear safety footwear.
