Please visit our website to learn more at Responsibilities: This position is responsible for developing financial plans at department & store level in a timely, efficient and fiscally responsible manner.

Responsible for achieving sales with optimal inventory turns and assisting in using best practices to manage the department. In partnership with Buyers, create optimal product assortment by stores to maximize sales potential and limit inventory liabilities. Specific Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Tracking Develops and manages financial plans and open to buy for assigned categories of merchandise Plan and forecast sales, receipts, markdowns, and inventory at dept/sub-dept, store and volume group levels Work with buying team to develop and manage optimal product assortments Identify sales opportunities and inventory liabilities Assist in special projects and/or adhoc reports Assortment Planning and Management Identifies and pursues areas of opportunity to increase sales by partnering with Buyers in fine-tuning product selection Identify over/underperforming categories and develops plans to ensure appropriate levels of inventory maximize profit in those categories Recommends disposition plans to either liquidate or return to the vendor overstocked aged inventory Financial Analysis & Reporting Perform in season business reviews by store, comparing actuals to plan and identify areas of opportunity and risk Provide recommendations of action plan to increase revenue based on quantitative findings from analysis Works with buying team to identify national or store-specific operational issues Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; educational background in business or retail preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in planning/allocation and/or buying; preferably in 2 years planning in retail environment Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel Intermediate to advanced experience using JDA MMS and Retail IDEAS or similar retail planning & reporting system required Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to implement creative and innovative ideas to increase merchandise sales and manage inventory Proficient in Excel and experience with Demand Planning/Open-to-Buy tools Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and adapt to a dynamic work environment Work well and develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams Follett provides a competitive, comprehensive and cost-effective benefits program that includes: Three Medical Options (Health Reimbursement Account, Health Savings Account, HMO) Two Dental Options (PPO, DMO) Vision Discount Program Flexible Spending Accounts for Medical and Dependant Care Profit Sharing and 401(k) Plan (dollar for dollar match up to 4%) Two Weeks Paid Vacation After One Year (one week in the first year after six months) Tuition Reimbursement for Manager Approved Career-Enhancing Courses 100% Matching of Qualified Charitable Donations Store Discounts on Books and Merchandise Eleven Paid Holidays (8 Observed Holidays, 3 Personal Days) We are an Equal Opportunity Employer welcoming individuals with diverse talents and backgrounds.
