As a Holiday Loss Prevention Overnight Guard Associate, you will be an integral part of bringing the magic of Macy's to life during the fast-paced holiday season. Associates in this role perform a number of functions that are critical to offering our customers the best experience when they shop in our store. While all holiday positions require working as part of a team to meet department and store objectives, your individual responsibilities include administering our vital loss prevention programs and manage all aspects of protecting our stores. You'll be responsible for upholding the reliability of the overnight security measures at every step.
In order to present our customers with the best holiday shopping experience, many of our Holiday Loss Prevention Overnight Guard Associates arrive prior to store opening and remain after closing to ensure we are ready to make Macy's magic. Holiday associates will have the opportunity to work a flexible schedule on a temporary basis, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and busy events such as the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. And don't forget - just in time for holiday shopping, you will receive an employee discount of up to 20% starting your first day!
Manage our Employee Entrances & Exits confirming that all employees are able to produce a valid Macy's employee identification
Manage the arrival and departures of our vendors ensuring that they've signed our
Macy's Visitor Sign-in Sheet
, upon entering and exiting our buildings, and that they're wearing appropriate identification while they're in our buildings
Control dock traffic by monitoring each vehicle that enters or exits the dock
Conduct nightly surveillance of interior and exterior perimeters of building while checking for any unauthorized personnel, as well as identify, report, and resolve any safety issues
Help maintain a safe work environment for Macy's personnel and visitors
Present a positive and professional first impression to our team members, vendors, and customers
Supervise burglar and fire alarm systems and conducting monthly audits of the fire system
Test audible door alarm functions and document and report any alarm that need to be repaired
Communicating suspicious behavior to the Loss Prevention team
Write comprehensive incident reports that meet the standards of Loss Prevention
Minimum one year Loss Prevention/Security and Retail experience
Strong interpersonal and administrative skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable using a computer
Ability to respond to alarm calls during non-business hours
High School diploma and/or related Criminal Justice/Administration of Justice studies preferred
