The Service Engineer will have a good technical understanding and knowledge of a range of marine propulsion products, systems, their functionality and applications and possess the ability to read blueprints, schematics, diagrams and technical order to determine methods and sequences of assembly. This position will also verify dimensions and clearances to ensure conforming to specification; undertake relevant routine maintenance, repair and commissioning work on marine equipment in accordance with the maintenance schedules; clean, inspect and evaluate the parts required for the repair / replacement, carrying out repair work on well-defined problems; direct and lead a team on service operations repair work where necessary; advise customers on other products and pursue upgrade opportunities on vessels of work; monitor the individual and teams performance against the core objectives and resolve problems by addressing their root cause.

Basic:High School Diploma with 7 years of hands on experience in the marine industry. Must be available to provide Service Support on a 24-hour basis, including weekends and holidays away from home at any time for days or weeks at a time.. Must maintain personal transportation sufficient for Service Support duties and possess a current, valid passport for overseas travel. Should be able to work extended hours when required. May at times be exposed to difficult working conditions (both hot and cold climates) and will be required to be physically capable to move on,off and around vessels on a regular basis (in line with the Health and Safety Policy). Preferred:Experienced with overhauling and repairing controllable pitch propellers and tunnel thrusters. Trained in installing and removing bearings, SKF couplings and evaluating gear profiles. Basic fundamentals with NDT testing.
