The AREVA Reactors & Services Business Group:
The Reactors and Services Business Group combines the nuclear reactor design and construction activities and the products and services activities necessary for the maintenance, operation, modernization, and improvement of power plants. It also includes vessel propulsion nuclear reactor and research reactor activities. AREVA is currently constructing four EPR™ reactors, of generation III+.

AREVA is seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer for our Canberra location in Meriden, CT.
Responsibilities and duties include:
Design and develop sophisticated and complex engineering projects.
Assume high level of project responsibility directs and coordinates major project activities.
Support and maintain existing products, provide technical assistance to lower level engineers and technicians.
Conduct analog and digital hardware design and development.
Test and analyze complex circuits, correlate results and performance to theoretical expectations.
Investigate new and emerging technologies related to Company products and applications.
Develop product specifications, cost estimates, schedules.
Write product documentation including spec sheets, manuals, test procedures and application notes.
Provide direction and guidance to lower level engineers, drafting.
Proven design skills in a product development environment/ Ability to work in multi-functional design teams.
SERFs - perform/assist with investigating feasibility, scope and cost when required.
Provide marketing support during formulation of new product specifications.
Provide manufacturing and customer support as required.
The senior level engineer is distinguished by technical expertise, experience, discipline, maturity and assigned level of responsibility.
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
B.S. degree in Digital Design, Engineering, or related discipline.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
Fluent understanding of complex electronic circuit theory.
Familiar with complex analog/digital circuits and components.
Experience with FPGA design and architectures (Actel, Xilinx, Altera and etc.).
Experience with digital simulation tools.
Design experience with microprocessor architectures (RISC, MIPS, PIC, and etc).
Good project management skills.
Good written/oral communication skills.
Basic computer operating skills, and computer aided engineering-schematic capture and circuit simulation.
Familiar with embedded firmware development tools (visual C++, C#, Visual Basic and high level programming environments.
Experience with optimizing PC board layouts to maximize real estate efficiency and minimize ground loops, EMI sensitivity, signal coupling and other undesirable signal interactions.
Ability to provide guidance regarding mechanical and package designs.
Experience with Company products and related applications.
Sporadic (< 5%) domestic travel.
